Estimates and binding quotes
A non-binding estimate is our best assessment based on the information you give us. A binding written quote, which we provide for long-distance moves and on request for local ones, fixes the price as long as the scope doesn’t change. If the actual inventory, access, or services differ materially from what you described — extra rooms, a piano we weren’t told about, a fourth-floor walk-up listed as a second floor — we’ll review and adjust the price with you before proceeding.
Deposits and cancellation
A $129 deposit reserves your date and is applied to your final balance. If you cancel or reschedule with reasonable notice, we’ll credit or refund the deposit per the terms on your written estimate. Last-minute cancellations may forfeit the deposit, since the crew and truck were held for you.
Liability and valuation
Our standard coverage is released value at $0.60 per pound per item, the federal default. You may choose full-value protection, under which we repair, replace, or settle at the item’s actual value, for an added charge noted on your estimate. Claims must be filed in writing within the period stated on your paperwork.
Your responsibilities
Please disclose your inventory accurately, arrange any building access and elevator windows we can’t reserve for you, and tell us about hazardous, perishable, or high-value items, which we may decline to transport. We’re not liable for damage to items you packed yourself unless we caused it through our handling.
Payment and governing law
The balance is due on delivery unless your written estimate says otherwise. These terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, and any dispute will be resolved in the District. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
